Review of the Special Kinmedai Ramen at Hosenka Shinjuku(Kabukicho 1-chome)

Introduction to the Restaurant

The other day, I visited the popular ramen shop “Hosenka” located in Kabukicho, Shinjuku. This shop, which stands out even in the highly competitive ramen district, is known for its unique broth and high-quality toppings.

The Ramen I Ordered

I ordered the “Special Kinmedai Ramen.” This bowl features a light broth made from kinmedai (golden eye snapper), with a gentle umami that spreads with each sip. The broth is clear yet rich in flavor, drawing you in with its delicate taste as you continue eating.

Notable Toppings

One of the standout toppings is the perfectly soft-boiled egg. The yolk has a smooth, creamy texture that pairs excellently with the broth. Additionally, the green onions and purple onions add a refreshing touch, enhancing the overall flavor without becoming monotonous. As shown in the photos, the beautifully arranged chashu is tender and juicy, breaking apart easily in your mouth.

Charcoal-Grilled Aroma as an Accent

The charcoal-grilled topping adds an aromatic accent, with a pleasant smoky flavor that whets the appetite. Personally, I found that this grilled touch elevated the overall impression of the ramen, making it a memorable dish.

Conclusion

This is a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts as well as those looking to enjoy a special broth.
